Based in Central Los Angeles, the mission of Quien Es Tu Vecindario, Spanish for “Who Is Your Neighborhood,” is to uplift communities through creative and accessible arts and education programs, and by extension, to assist them in preserving their place and rights to equity in the city; our organization’s name also highlights the fact that it is PEOPLE who make up a home, a neighborhood, small businesses, and other forms of place-making. We thus work in and with communities who are often underrepresented in media and storytelling, or whose stories are often distorted by larger corporate media networks.
